I agree with EverythingAttachment. The Vanguard engines are the best engines Briggs sells. If things havnt changed since i was in the business, the Vanguard series is actually a Daihatsu engine licensed by briggs. I know the 16hp version they made for snapper was the best engine option you could get, even better than honda, kohler, kawasaki, ect.

The Vanguard engine is actually only licensed by Briggs.

Thanks for posting your opinion of the Briggs Engine. Our opinion is that the Vanguard Engines are very powerful and reliable. We have these mowers being used by local commercial lawn care professionals that are swearing by them, not at them.
