Heroes Effects - Poison Emission

My version of Maya's Ability from the television series Heroes.

No title tags or name tags this time cuz I just wanted to test out an effect. So just a seperate story here..

A evolved human learns about the tragic death of a close one, his emotions become overwelming causing his ability to manifest .. poison emission.. resulting in spreading across the neighbourhood, almost killing everyone in the vicinity. Luckaly he calms down, but was this all planned....?

The First clip on the phone with the subtitles? Did you use any background blur in that or any other effects or was it simply the aperture on the camera?

Cool! Its a good effect. Ive done a couple of videos in after effects...

Where do you learn your techniques?

I dunno I learn new techniques I guess when I'm bored and watch a cool scene from one of the shows where my effects are based on. Later I flip open my laptop and just mess around in After Effects and see which tools I need to quickly re-create the scene I saw earlier in an episode.

This time I tried to emplify the drama by pulling the background out of focus..

I like the ghosting effect, there is a tool for it in Preimere 9. You don't have to do it manually...

@Frenchchikn He could have also added in some motion blur effects like fast blur and did some color correction, if needed, to help give it a better look.

@PhoenixFireFx He off set the movie by duplicating it multiple times and then setting each double one frame off from the one below it. So the normal movie (original) would be at frame 0:00, then the next one above it would start on frame 0:01. The duplicate above that one would start on frame 0:02. By doing this it will give you this effect. Hoped this help!
