BEFORE & AFTER RAW FOOD (no sound)

We went on a high raw diet of fruits and veggies and both of us lost tons of weight!!

We are "vegan"; this has really helped us over come a lot of ailments.

Raw food really makes a difference!!

We began a journey of health when we decided to have children. The first thing we did was to reduce packaged food from our lives. The motivation behind this was the alien-like food ingredients that were showing up on the labels of the packaged foods we were buying. We couldn't pronounce them and we had no idea what they were or how they came about. After diving into research and finding out what a lot of these ingredients were, we were appalled and refused to feed our soon to arrive child these things.

That led us to eating a more whole food diet and I started cooking more so that we could create homemade versions of the packaged foods were had bought in the past (cookies, soups, lasagna, etc.).

About a year after our daughter was born we decided to switch a few of our food items to healthier choices. For example we switched from cows milk to goats milk. We were still eating SAD (standard american diet) but something was awakening in us and we were striving for better, healthier choices; and doing lots of research!

Our daughter never really liked meat and because of that I was driven to discover what, if anything, she was missing by not eating meat. I discovered that meat is not, as we are led to believe, necessary for optimal health. Which led us to think about if we should be eating it either! Hence more research!

We decided to reduce the amount of meat we ate and to have very little red meat. We did this for a while and eventually we eliminated red meat all together. A year went by, we were still eating meat but were not drawn to it as we were in the past. Eventually we became vegetarians (which happened December of 2009 after watching a whole bunch of videos/movies about animal cruelty).

Our grocery cart was filling up more and more with organic food choices and the more research we did the less we opted for non-organics. After watching a few documentaries about factory farming we decided to transition to a vegan lifestyle and did so only a month or so after becoming vegetarian.

So we were pretty much vegan (still eating honey) and feeling great! I had lost 5-10 lbs and the more I researched the closer I came to the raw food lifestyle. I came across some videos here on YouTube about some people who had tried the raw food diet and I was driven to explore this interesting concept. I was amazed at how logical the whole thing was and I sought out more videos on raw food.

I came across a few people that had been living a raw food lifestyle for many years and after subscribing to a few channels and watching lots of videos; I decided to give it a shot!!! We started our raw transition around March of 2010 and were 80% raw by May!!

Once I decide to do something that's it! We transitioned from SAD to high RAW in 5 months! We all feel amazing and I've lost well over 60 lbs (from Jan 2010 to May 2010)!!! I intend to be vegetarian for life, and have no intentions of going off the vegan path either.

My intention is to continue on the raw vegan path as my health is climbing and I haven't felt this great since I was 18 years old!! :)

Peace & Love

  • Awesome! Your BF is freaking hot after raw. And you are doing well! Check out the raw website 30bananasaday dotcom, I've never seen leaner and athletic persons on the raw diet!

  • Way to go girl ! What an inspiration !

  • @LivingInTheVortex Eating/juicing only fruit from rising to early evening is the way to go - I think - and lots of it too! :) To wind down the high energy from the fruit - greens (salad/juice). Occasional raw fats (avocado/soaked nuts & seeds/coconut). Anything beyond that is "icing on the cake" (aka: you don't need it). RE: supplements - fresh/wild herbs and nothing else. B12 is still an unresolved debate. Protein Myth. Sprouts beat grass hands down! :) Peace & Love

  • @binsk 5'11 Thanks for watching :) Peace & Love

  • @guestaccount26 Thanks! :) Yes those dates are correct. The first 2pics there isn't much of a difference - I was vegan but eating lots of starchy carbs - it was right around the end of April 2010 when we transitioned again from "vegan" to "high raw" and got on nettles and herbs and started getting "jedi" as Dan (liferegenerator) would say ;) Ate only fruit & veggies. That's when the weight just fell off!! When we got the juicer in June it went even faster!! Peace & Love
