Homebuilt High Voltage (30kv) DC supply

This roughly 30Kvdc output power supply was constructed from common materials such as PVC pipe, spark plugs, flyback transformer from discarded TV set and "doorknob" capacitors. Even recycled plastic bottles where used as insulators. The filament output is used the primary at 7-8VDC @ 2A 2Khz pulse. A demo with a solar panel is done to show of effictive this is.

@yoshieggz Thanks for explaining it, im not that indepth into this stuff just thought it was neat.

Kinda terrible when someone has a legitimit question about something, then someone who you don't know comes around being a complete jerk about things calling you vulgar names just for being interested in something.. It really shows some peoples true colors about how they still want to live in a hurtful world instead of teaching each other to help humanity grow.

30kV @ 16VA = 0.53mA and that will in no way kill you. You probably won't even be able to feel it. I have touched arcs with a lot more power (see my videos).

@Janigut Amperes is what you should be real afraid of, The current is the dangerous part. But being safe att all times is always a good practice though.

As always in comments about projects where electricity is not comming from a generator or from the grid: Check the amperage. I guess it is low...
