This dog is very friendly, but needs help learning self control. She is wildly excited about chasing our cats. They like to tease her and run away. Here she gets a click and treat for looking at the trainer if she chooses to do so rather than barking at the cats. She is tied to the fence so that she can't chase the cats and so that the trainer will not yank on the leash. At first the dog is so distracted she can't even sit when asked. She is not being disobedient or stubborn, she is just too excited even to hear the trainer talking to her. After this one session this dog was able to be loose with the cats in and out of the house without losing her mind.

  • I was just fooling around with chains since we were creating the KP Academy course material at that time and I figured I had better test all the things were were going to be asking the students to do. I did not have my own dog at the time, so all the dogs in my neighbourhood have a repertoire of odd behaviours!

  • My dog is just the same with cats. Not evil, but loves chasing them! Same noises, same body language! I definitely will try the same thing with her! Thanks a lot! Clickertraining rules!!

  • Great video!

  • Well done.

  • Gotta love what you can accomplish in one GOOD clicker session! Great video. And what is the touch/sit chain going to be used for?
