  • It's good to know there are at least a few competent polititians out there.

  • Ms Lofgrin can you not see why Hollywood wants this bill to pass!

SOPA / PIPA is more about "protectionism" than Internet censorship.

The last time in this country's history when we protected American jobs was in 1929!

"PROTECTIONISM" by the federal government killed competition and caused

"the great depression" read you history ma'am

  • Sorry for so many posts but I just came across some new information. Wikimedia Foundation General Counsel Geoff Brigham has just released a letter of which I feel will be quite useful. It is titled the Wikipedia:SOPA initiative. It addresses the revised version of the bill and goes into great detail about some of the issues they still have regarding it.

  • There is one other thing to consider. This isn't just the web which this will have adverse effects. Smart Phones, GPS devices, survey equipment, bar code & credit scanners. ATM machines etc. Just about any device that requires an IP address will be at risk. This goes far beyond the internet as puts everyone in real danger. What happens if that content comes from a phone or other device? Most have internet access and what about WiFi? There are so many variables in this yet not considered?

  • Sorry about the Mr by the way lol. ^_^

  • Just to add to this. We already have somewhat a crisis as is with no more IPv4 address. The internet database of registered IP address has just sent it last batch to the 3 depositories throughout the world. The last 10 years of IP6's development would come into Jeopardy! now. This falls right in line with the IP protection act and it will only add to an already big problem. The entire web infrastructure at some point needs to be upgraded to IPv6. This is a mammoth undertaking in and of itself.

  • Google Growing Chorus of Opposition to "Stop Online Piracy Act. This is far more dangerous then i expected. This is attacking the very integrity of the web. It is attacking our security & infrastructure. This could eliminate venture capital and e-commerce in one fail swoop. This bill is a disaster of epic proportions. Mr Lofgren please check this out. If this was about piracy & copyright would so many credible people be talking against it. This bill needs to die and start over.

  • editing the DNS- even in a little way could wreck havok on all of the layers of the internet... govt should just pay big media their extortion racket money back.. No hail to King obama from me... All who support this bill have LOST my vote..
