All of the coins I had were 0.999 or sterling silver but I have now added a gold coin to my collection! Have a look at my 2010 1/25 oz 0.9999 gold coin. It is 1.270 grams of pure gold and was produced by the Royal Canadian Mint. The front of the coin has a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officer on a horse and the back has Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is very small (smaller than a dime) but I love it.

  • How much was the premium? I got a 1/10 ounce gold Maple in Calgary for $164, a few weeks ago.... around $25 over spot at the time.

  • @TheCFDFirefighter If you buy them direct from the RCM you pay $110 (so about a $50-$55 premium) but you can usually find them for sale on eBay or private sales for around $80-$85 (so $20-$25 premium)

  • Nice. When gold goes to $5000 an ounce and silver goes to $150 you'll be so glad you had the foresight to do what you're doing. Congratulations.
