"Red Hot" is a little depron Pylon Racer that I built from scratch over the past weeks. It has a step profile out of 6mm depron with an 8x8mm balsa leading edge and 5x25mm balsa trailing edges for ailerons and elevator (no rudder).
The rest is 6mm depron which seems to me to measure 5mm which means the 5mm trailing edges are just perfect :-)
It is covered with "Oracover" which seems to add a little strength that is important at these speeds (top speed is still unknown, hopefully we'll get a chance to clock it in the next weeks)
The hinges are also "Oracover".
It is approx. 80cm long and has a wingspan of 80cm, weighs exactly 500g with a 3S 1300mAh battery in it.
Motor: Turnigy 2627 3800kv 38gramm Heli motor.
Speed Controller: Turnigy H40A 47gramm.
Servo's: 3 x Tower Pro 9gramm (next time this one is getting metal gears!)
Rx: Spektrum AR6200 with satelite (remote) reciever.
Prop: 4,7x4 Cam Speed Prop. (4,7x4,7 is too much for this motor)
Battery: Turnigy 3S 1300mAh 30-40S LiPo wit 4mm gold connectors.
And by the way there are no plans, I just made it up as I went along and thats the reason why the nose turned out to be a little to wide, but that doesn't spoil the fun :-)
Also a really big THANK YOU to Timo who managed to catch the complete flight on my Lumix digital still camera, great job Timo.
