The Ensemble Shanbezadeh offers us a unique perspective on the hypnotic rhythms and traditional melodies from the Persian Gulf, especially from the unknown region of Bushehr. In this southern Iranian region crossed Persian, Arab, African and Indian traditions into a culture very different to those of the north of the country.

Neyanban player (bagpipe) and dancer Saied Shanbezadeh founded the ensemble in 1990 and won first prize at the immediately Fajrfestival in Tehran. Saied is accompanied by his son Najhib, Damman and the best player of Iran, Habib Meftahbousheri. Besides the trio plays neyaban neyjoti (double flute), Dammam (percussion), gilding (percussion), zartempo (percussion), Senj (cymbals), flutes and boogh (horn). In 2009 led the ensemble in Zuiderpershuis for an impressive trance experience.
