SloMo visual look at a late season NW Swell which provided 15-25ft+ faces.
Waimea Bay, Avalanche and other outer reefs firing off.

  • The day before the Eddie was larger and out-of-control.... I don't think the Eddie had a 50ft wave... Waimea usually closes out then. Let's just say they are some BIG waves!

  • @surfshooterhawaii I also assumed that since for the "Eddie" That waves had to be Minimum 20 foot Hawaiian, that it would translate into 35- 40 foot faces minimum for the Eddie. Maybe I have a fallacy somewhere though?

  • @surfshooterhawaii Sorry, I live far from the ocean.... What do you mean by "Closes out"?

  • Do you think some faces could have been 35 or 40 feet? Maybe its just the your perspective here, but 2 or 3 of these waves appear larger/ taller than other videos from 12/8/2009 during the Eddie where there where 40 - 50 foot + faces
