Teejay -- Christmas Reconstructed -- This is a pretty little song, with which I first became acquainted in 7th Grade Choir. We had a nice choir back at Eugene Burroughs JHS, but when Mrs. Oiler popped this tune into the mix, I was astounded: for in the mindset of my 7th-grade mind, how could there possibly be a Christmas Carol I didn't already know?!
Over the years, this tune has stuck with me, and surprisingly few other versions have crossed my path -- far fewer than any other carol in my project save "We Will Rock You". And, as such, I had to include it.
So, with the assistance of Thomas Dolby, Rachel Sweet, Angelo Badalamenti, and Van Morrison, here's "Lo, How a Rose".
Graphically, this was also something of a challenge... so I took a nautical tack, because at this point in the Christmas 2010 season, I feel somewhat adrift, and am seeking some form of guidance. I know He's there, and as soon as I see the beam of light, I'll have a direction.
God Bless, and Merry Christmas!
Amazing how all those solos fit so well into the song. Harmonies are really nice on this one, don't sound processed at all...
