  • omg!!!!! a 009 cant make that engine run better than the stock 022.

  • Many 356/912 (and 914-4 owners with carburetors) owners have replaced their original distributor with the Bosch 009 performance distributor only to find that the engine lost power. The 009 has a short advance curve and, if timed statically, will be 10 degrees short of full advance -- the cause of the power loss. Full advance of 34-36 degrees (and additional power) can be achieved by timing the distributor with a proper timing light.

  • and if you do it that way, your timing will be further advanced at idle. not as bad of a thing, but still wrong for that engine and its aplication.

  • a 022 has 15* advance at 1500 rpm and a total of 30* at 2800rpm

    a 019 has 8.5 degrees of advance at 1800 rpm and 17 degrees at 3500 rpm

    the 009 is crap

  • well i feel better about how my tuning went
