Im not sure about you guys but i always thought this film shouldve been called batman and robin and the next was forever to kind of round it off the series. Not sure why they made it this way round.
a low budget b movie? Please it was made in 1989!!! Everybody knows Batman Returns is the best film of the saga. Screenplay, characters and set design was perrrrrfect. Michelle Pfeiffer still looks so hot. Meaow!
@Freebird11011988 A fair criticism. I enjoyed this movie when it came out, but I was 14 at the time, and even then I knew was knew it was inferior to the first two films.
none of the old batman movies are good. the first one looks like a low budget b movie compared to Begins and dark knight, Returns is too weird and cartoonish, batman forever is over the top, and Batman and Robin just flat out sucks.

Takes a long fucking time and not cheap. Now is it glossy? no... but in a lot of ways Batman Returns was.

kilmer did a good job though and carrey portrayed a decent riddler
