I've been asked many times for my Blade 400 pitch and throttle curve settings.

Remember, I learned without gyros, half rates, or exponential controls, so I don't need a bunch of fancy settings.

Most of my 3d settings are simply set up by the "MAS technique" (3 point curve) and I have applied it to all of my helicopters with some of them shown in this video..

These all worked for me. *** "NightFlyyer's ***
Throttle and Pitch curves for Blade 400"

Throttle curve:

Norm Lo-0.0, 2-25.0%, 3-50%, 4-75%, Hi-100%

Stunt Lo-100%, 2-85%, 3-70.5%, 4-85%, Hi-100%

Hold 35%

Pitch curve:

Norm Lo-20%, 2-35%, 3-50%, 4-70%, Hi-90.5%

Stunt Lo-5.0%, 2-28.0%, 3-45% 4-58.5%, Hi-90%

Hold Lo-35%, 2-43.5%, 3-55%, 4-75%, Hi 100%

****Also note ***,
I reduced the throws on my servo arms, by one hole in..

Thanks a lot for watching and subscribing. I hope this helps those who have asked for it.

  • Hi cool video.I know moving the servo arms in makes the throw smaller, but i was wondering would you recommend doing that for a beginner?thanks,WTRCF

  • If your just going to practice hovering and nothing fancy, it makes hovering less sensitive. You can always try it, just make sure to do all 3 servos the same. Good luck.

  • Exellent. Thanks Dave. I shall be sure to pass this along.

  • Thanks. It may not be for everybody, but for a guy that learned without the use of expos, half rates, or HL gyros, they work for me. ~Dave

  • @rwoods1985 Yes, it does. If I am not mistaken, all of the Blade helis use Spektrum tech.

  • The stunt mode feature is the same thing as idle up for 3d flying correct?

  • i had a quick question for you... does the dx6i work with the blade sr 120??

  • Great Video, boy seeing that Kavan Jet Ranger brings back memories....I wanted one of those when I was about 14 years old. (for my first helicopter) As I remember it was really expensive back then and you needed to be an expert to fly one.My father told me if I joined a local RC club he would think about it. The club had no helicopter pilots and put the scare of flying them into me.

Well years later I bought my first bird..the Concept 30 and self taught myself to fly.

    Then the Concept 60.
