It was probably more than a rumour...I don't know if there was negative rivalry going on but I do know (because I was there) that when this band played on two occasions in London in the 1990s, Kid stole the show each time. One time it was a long solo (six or more choruses) on Wait On Time, which was a model of economy and taste yet powerful, without being loud. The other time it was a superb solo worthy of B.B.King on 'Live At The Regal', on a slow blues, maybe Full-Time Lover.

Kid lives and has his own music school in the Carver area of my home town of Plymouth Ma., so he isn't playing out as much as he used to. Not only the nicest guy but a world class, killer blues guitarist!
