My older video:

The two items review are Abba pure performance hair care and Burt's Bees volumizing pomegrante and soy shampoo.

Dangers of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate: This inexpensive detergent is commonly used in cosmetic cleansers, hair shampoos, bath and shower gels, bubble baths, etc. - It is probably the most dangerous ingredient used in skin and hair-care products. In the cleaning industry SLS is used in garage floor cleaners, engine degreasers, car-wash soaps, etc. May cause hair loss by attacking the follicle. Is potentially harmful to skin and hair. Cleans by corrosion. Dries skin by stripping the protective lipids from the surface so it can't effectively regulate moisture.

  • SLS isn't used because it's cheap, its used because it foams and cleans. Anyway, have you ever tried Lush shampoos? I know that Cyntia Sylvia Stout doesn't have SLS in it. Some of their stuff does, but not all of it. :D You should try it out. My hair has never felt better!

  • @ducksbees Yeah I used to use Lush products, but they were expensive for the size. I did like the conditioner, but I will look into Cyntia Sylvia stuff. Thanks for the suggestion! What would you recommend from that brand?

  • Dr. Bronner's soaps FTW. By the way, if the ingredient list contains even ONE weird-sounding chemical, just stay away!

  • @FoodOrFail ACTUALLY I was very curious to try Dr. Bronner's soaps. I saw it at Target, but was confused on actually how to use it. What is Dr. Bronner soap used for? Is it a conditioner or shampoo or body wash all in one??

  • @msJones821 Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) is known for producing a lot of lather in shampoos, which are harmful and can strip necessary oils from your hair. Shampoos without SLS can also form lather minimally/not at all. Foam and lather doesn't indicate SLS in the product. Foam could be cause by other factors like the ingredient in shampoo or water, which is why I would recommend a shower filter. I know from experience that hair stylist will say to stay away from SLS.

  • @littlegirlvi It's a Castile soap (basically a mild soap with olive oil as a base). Mainly used as a soap, it's becoming more widely known as an alternative to chemical-laden shampoos. It does NOT lather like regular shampoo and that takes some getting used to. Also -- while it will clean your hair, it will not strip it of all the natural oils. So, it takes time for hair/scalp to adjust, & hair could look a little greasy during the period you switch away from regular shampoo.

  • vegan free? you mean there are absolutely NO VEGANS in the shampoo?? Then what good is it???

  • sodium lauryl (or laureth) sulfate is bad because it breaka up grease and oils to get hair really clean, but is a very small water attracting molecule, so it actually penetrates the hair and absorbs the moisture out(and your skin too). The hair product industry actually has brainwashed us over the years to believe that we need a high sudsing shampoo, and the sls is what gives the shampoo its suds. The abba is a good match for you, because mint is a good antifungal, leading cause of dandruff

  • Thank you! your info helped a lot and very informative. My hair rocks now! you're a cutie too. are u single?
