We Will Not Be Silenced by WMG Copyright Claims!

Hello, people of YouTube. I would like to talk about how annoyed I am that YouTube is allowed to remove videos that people have uploaded because of copyright claims, usually due to music that they're supposedly not authorized to use. In my opinion, I think that this is completely unfair because people are not making a living off of these videos. Theyre just posting videos; they just happen to use music that they dont legally own and putting footage of, lets say, clips from their favourite shows, or pictures, or whatever, and its solely for people's entertainment, for people who share the same interests as them. I don't think that its fair that videos should be removed just because they're using music that doesn't belong to them, because the point of YouTube is just to share videos with people all over the world.

One of my videos, that I made, was removed because it had the Macarena in it, and obviously, I don't own the Macarena. This isn't fair — tons of other people have videos that they dont own the music for, and their video isn't removed. Now, I'm not saying you should remove their videos, because that would be completely unfair. I'm just saying that I don't understand why my video — and other people's videos as well, have been removed or the audio has been disabled. I find it extremely irritating when I want to watch a video and there is no audio, because it was removed.

Therefore, Im asking you, the people of YouTube, to join me in this, for lack of a better word, petition, to alert YouTube that we are extremely disappointed by this, and we would really like to post videos, even if we don't legally own the audio that we may be using. I don't think these copyright claims are fair, and we should all be able to post videos with whatever we choose to, assuming, of course, that the content is appropriate for all viewers.

So, if you're unhappy, if one of your or more of your videos have audio that has been removed, or the entire video has been removed from YouTube, I don't know, post a response, tell me what you think. Leave comments...yeah. I want my video back.

Also what is WMG? I have never heard of it before, until YouTube has suddenly, recently, started making these claims against people, started removing audio tracks or removing entire videos. What is it? I've never heard of it before, and why is YouTube, all of the sudden, deciding that videos should not appear on YouTube, or the audio should not be heard. What is this? Why all the sudden? Why are they suddenly deciding to be all legal and, you know, cracking down on people? I don't get it!

I want people to view my video, and listen to the Macarena while watching my video, and I don't think its fair that my video was removed because of some copyright claim, even though I'm not making money off of it, and I don't plan to make money off of it; I want this video to be solely for the enjoyment of other people on YouTube.

I am very upset, and please let us have our videos back, and our audio. Well, not our audio, but THE audio in our videos. Thank you!

If you were having a birthday party in the park and had music on for everyone there, you would not be cited for copyright violations. But at the same party you would not be expected to fly coca cola and Doritos advertisements to play the music. That would be ridiculous! Yet that is what happens on YouTube. OMG your such a doll! I am so with you on this... You are absolutely right and this could clearly be defeated in court. But the average man doesn't have the money to fight the big guys... The removal of video and music is random an inconsistent, its done irrationally. The have no reason to fix the problem because that have yet to find a way to make a profit from it... Well a bigger profit anyway.
