  • If it was to just get noticed by bigger networks I doubt they would have gotten involved in a "Long term partnership" as it would cause more problems then it would solve. I don't know the exacts of the partnership, so who's to say where it might take them.

  • Well obviously other networks like to see what their competition has to offer. Look at TNA's first deal with Fox Sports Net, it's just like this on. A company such as ROH with hopes of gaining a bigger fanbase, getting a lot more exposure and ultimately more money on a network that not a lot of people have. TNA on FSN did get them noticed, and for sure people are looking at HDnet when you look at stuff like Affliction and the potential they could be shooting out.

  • I'm glad, MOP is one of the best overall deathmatch shows of all time.

And all you have to know about COD is that is was terrible. The opener was fun, the finals were crazy, everything else was pure shit.

  • It's a long term partnership, I don't think it will be good for getting noticed, but you never know. Also, not many people have HD TVs now, but in it is an expanding audience, and may be better in the long term.

But it's one of those cases where you just have to wait and see how things pan out. I don't think it will really boost them too much either. Maybe help buyrates, attendance numbers and DVDs sales a bit, but that's about it.

  • To be fair, I don't think the deal is meant to really BOOST ROH into the National scene. Sure HDnet says that and thinks that, but it's an HD only network, not everybody has it and it will be presented to a limited television audience. This deal is probably just to get noticed by bigger networks.

  • It wouldn't matter how many people receive it. As we know from the past ROH was waiting for a good deal, and HDNet would know ROH doesn't have the money for the show, so they would be covering the costs.

Even if it did cost ROH, it wouldn't be much or they think they can make the money back.

Also, we don't know how long "long term" means, and even then, they weren't getting good offers before this, so what is to say they will now?
