  • Your love is palpable both for the art and for other artists finding their way. I have been struggling to find classes in the area for some practical tips of the trade. I have ideas, but need practical technique elements now. I have certainly found a few others, but so far these couple of videos are my favorites for the personal element offered and the tricks of the trade. Thanks for being a virtual mentor of the craft and of the heart. You have helped speed my efforts.

  • @soulfuljourney You know I have been told that quite a bit...My mom came from Connecticut and New York....I was born in a Chicago Suburb....Got it from mom I guess. Thanks, Blessings, Skye

  • This is the most helpful video I've found on YouTube!!!! Thank you so much for posting it! I find lots of "how to paint" videos, but nowhere else have I found any "tricks of the trade" ones, and you have just helped me solve a bunch of problems! :) Thank you so much!

  • @kerrileannestudio Thank you for watching! I have a few more tricks to put on video but I have been so slammed with Commission paintings I can't get to it. I'm doing more real soon. :)

  • The reason Michaels canvas are warped is because they stack them on the side without support and they half way fall over putting weight on the bottom ones warping the wood. Michaels canvas is thin. If you have a choice, Hobby Lobby quality is better in a pinch but I like Dick Blick quality. I have had good luck with there stuff.

  • Thank you so much abstrueoni! More videos coming soon.

  • Excellent tips! Can't wait to go to walmart and dollar store and try out these new things!!

  • @skyetaylorgalleries You do have an accent and I love it. Part of the charm. Reminds me just a bit of a friend from Arkansas. Not exactly, but a similar element to the tone. Perhaps more the pesonality and less the accent reminds me of him, but hard to say.

  • thanks! u r such a very full inspiration! :)

  • I hate buying my canvas to find out two days later they are warped sucks!

  • Thanks for the video, especially about the gesso. Previously, I've been preparing my surfaces (usually canvasboard) with white paint from the hardware store.

I thought you were from Chicago, because of your style and that you mentioned Menards. I lived in Chicago, but where I live now no one knows what Menards is.

I think I saw your works at Around The Coyote several years ago.

  • Love the videos especially the tips and tricks which is informative and to the point with no talking about things that don't relate to the video! you kept me entertained at work today.. Thank you :) oh and the bit about the therapist was a good laugh!
