Thirty years ago, Prince Charles and Lady Diana married in what was one of the most lavish weddings of the 20th century. Here, in two segments are video clips of the NBC coverage with commentary by Jane Pauley and Tom Brocaw (were they ever really that young?). There were high hopes for the union of Charles and the young commoner, but it was not to be. But on July 29, 1981...
10 years before I was born, yet this was the wedding of my dreams as a young child. In my mind, Diana was the most beautiful woman in the world, and Charles was the epitome of Prince Charming. Now looking at it, I know the fault lines and so on, but this wedding has lost none of its charm for me.

"There were high hopes for the union of Charles and the young commoner," ???? Diana was certainly NOT a commoner. She was of ancient nobility.
