KDE 4.3 Beta 1 Review

Showing some of new features in KDE 4.3 Beta 1 (Its actually Kdemod, but it isnt different to vannilla kde). This is great release which polishes kde 4 desktop and even if it doesn't have many exciting features, it has fixed many bugs, so kde4 has become even more stable than ever, in fact that this beta release is quite stable. I recorded this with qt-recordmydesktop. Its actually faster than on video, because capture software ate lots of my cpu power.

im happy that you liked it. i didnt show new dolphin's preview system, but i guess everything else is showed here. i hope next video will be with mic, because now i needed to give it to else.

KDE4 rocks. I'm even using it! GNOME sucks. BTW for less cpu-usage, for video recording use istanbul instead of qt-recordmydesktop. Istanbul keeped my system's speed even with full kwin settings on kde.)

Kde is stable since kde 4.2.1 for me, only freezes if I mount sumthin' from konsole, and misuse it afterwards. Konqueror beats firefox even in speed, even in java, even the flash player was much faster for me. It couldn't only open a hungarian page's application, after setting up fully.

more bendy, but alot more work unfortunately :( but you can't have bendyness without making it complicated and vice versa.

It seems that a phonon problem (that I blamed Amarok for - shame on me!) with playback was fixed entirely in 4.3 RC1, so Amarok doesn't skip tracks at random any more and plays music incredibly smoothly. Thanks!

I actually like the center context view of Amarok, though I tend to expand/collapse the three different panes depending on what I'm doing. Really enjoy the new Amarok (though I guess I didn't use all the advanced features available in 1.4), good job overall!

Yes, and I miss the old one-click retag track thing. Not a bad player, but 1.4.10 is better. They should add a "classic theme", and then only the speed were dumb.

I like amarok2, but I think it's not as clever now as the prevoius major version were. Looks nice on the outside but a little disappointment on the inside.
