  • Fantastic!!! I've only known this by The Four Tops who also do an excellent version.

  • I did not know that the Four Tops had a version of this song. I will try and locate it and check it out.

  • Love the opening - and the song - have not heard in years.............

  • And here I always thought I was the only one who loved or remembered Ms. Lester's beautiful rendition of Once Upon A Time. My own experience with a 45 of the song is almost identical to kirkmanb's, below.

Thanx, maynardcat; you've made my day...

  • @maynardcat Checked out the Tops Version!

    FANTASTIC" FOUR TOPS!

    Thanks!

  • Ketty Lester wasn't born yet in 1954".

Use to listen to Sinatra sing this Over and Over and Over in the Air Force 1965.

First saw Ketty in 1965 doing LOVE LETTERS!

    And I still "LOVE" Her".

    I"ll always love her!

  • Thank you for this lost version of this song. Of all the artists who made this recording I think Ketty Lester shined way above. Ketty's lyrics and voice were haunting. I found the 45 buy accident in apile of reords at a 5&10 cent store in 63 and played it to death. It wore out. I looked for it over the years but could never find it, I found it here by accident. how ironic. I still have the 45. I kept it as a memory. Thank you again.

  • Thank You!!

A song I hadn't heard by one of my new faves,Ketty Lester. It's up there and on a par with the others I have heard her sing.

Very intimate style as if she is singing for you only.

  • WOW! I have never heard this before! What a gorgeous song! I only know her for "Love Letters". Beautiful song!

  • Thank you for this. I played this song to death when I was a kid in the 60s. Also the flip - "But Not For Me"
