I am not a political person but I do feel our politicians are in a bad light at present. It puts a different twist to All party whip. I have to say that I like Gordon Brown and had hoped he would bring us back to reality but I am a humble teller of folktales, and as I have said before, I am interested in gathering other peoples opinions and translating them into some rough form of entertainment, as now.
I read this article by Richard Littlejohn who is a British newspaper journalist/broadcaster and liked the way he had used one of my favourite Dylan songs to write a spoof aimed at the government.
Richard kindly agreed to me recording it for Youtube.
I must apologise if it doesnt mean much to my non-British friends but the gist of it is that, allegedly, some of our politicians have been getting creative with their expenses while the government has been less creative at our expense. An election is looming!
As you will see, I am still experimenting with my new video editing toy but after the vacation I may not be able to play for a while. I have just had an e.mail from my boss (no not Mrs. B this time) saying Get off Youtube and write a play for production in the Autumn (that is Fall to you colonials) So, I guess this will be the last for a while. (Your indifference overwhelms me!) lol
By the way, thanks for all those wishes for good weather!

I publish the words for translation. Id love to see what my Office translator makes of this.
Come gather round comrades wherever you are,
And admit that this time, Gordon Brown's gone too far,
The men in white coats are approaching the door,
The Government isn't worth saving,
His performance on YouTube, it was the last straw,
He isn't just mad, he's stark raving.
Come loyal backbenchers and vote with your feet,
The pollsters all say you will lose your safe seat,
It's six-to-four on that you're gonna get beat,
The way that this madman's behaving,
Your party is heading for certain defeat,
For the times they are a-changin'.
Come Cabinet ministers, you all know the score,
Put down your red boxes and run for the door,
Admit that New Labour is dead on the floor,
The roof wasn't fixed and it's raining,
Forget Alan Johnson or Jolly Jack Straw,
It's not just the leader needs changing.
Come Westminster pundits, you all got it wrong,
You told us that Gordon was clever and strong,
But then he turned out to be weak all along,
Though he pretended the world he was saving,
And now that he's finished, you're achangin' your song,
Because Gordon is drowning, not waving.
The line it is drawn, the curse it is cast,
At the General Election, you're gonna come last,
The days of dear Prudence are all in the past,
You've stolen our pensions and savings,
Unemployment and taxes are going up fast,
And we're going to vote Call Me Dave in.

I find it pretty hard to believe that Bob Dylan would support a Tory government which supports the rich and fucks the poor. I'm not a Labour supporter but I know Dylan would'nt see so many policies that affect the poor as a good thing. The tuition fee rise, EMA cuts and VAT rises are shameful and the government behind it go completely against the equality people fought for during the 60's.

@sionofthebread - As you read in my notes, I'm apolitical but as a someone who lived in the sixties and still remembers (I was a passive smoker then) I think Dylan could definitely have written this about present-day socialism which is so very similar to conservatism that you'd need a sharp knife to draw that line. I think Richard Littlejohn knew that we wouldn't be any better off with a Tory government. I am a pensioner now so I know what poor means. Thanks for your comment. S

Thankyou, Michel. I'm a bit worried Gordon will get to hear about this and come 'round to hit me!
