One of the biggest hit records for the 1930s radio and recording team Gene and Glenn (Gene Carroll and Glenn Rowell). Glenn Rowell (1899-1965) was a well-known pianist and composer in the 1920s and '30s, writing part of the popular song "I Get the Blues When It Rains." He famously partnered with Ford Rush in the '20s, appeared on thousands of radio broadcasts in the '30s, and hosted a few kids TV shows in the '50s.
Thanks for posting this great record! I've never heard it before! It seems that two easily-recognizeable hallmarks of Mr. Rowell's style are the frequent use of arpeggios, arranged in triplet rhythm, in the right hand; and also an extensive use of a typical off-beat walking bass in the left hand (this is the more common form for popular piano playing of this time, compared with the on-beat walking bass which is more typical of boogie woogie).
