2012 Winter Commencement - University of the District of Columbia

It was the largest winter commencement ever for graduates of the University of the District of Columbia, January 27, 2012. Nearly 160 people received, Associate's, Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the nation's only public land grant university. President Dr. Allen Sessoms greeted the new graduates by challenging them to embrace their future. Dr. Kendrick Curry, Vice Chair of UDC's Board of Trustees, delivered a rousing invocation in which he called for each graduate to maintain contact with their alma mater as it continues its transformation. And Dr. Ken Bain, UDC's new Provost, discussed his new book in which he studied the characteristics of successful college graduates and asked the graduates to emulate those traits.
