  • does the frame rate seem low because it was video taped or is that due to

    a.) the camera?

    b.) the display?

    c.) the graphics processor?

    d.) ???

    e.) profit...

  • Baud rate 1228800 (Maximum achievable with the uCAM)

Resol. Img Size fps Image format

    80x60 9600 bytes 16 Raw

    160x120 38400 bytes 4 Raw

    128x128 32768 bytes 4.7 Raw

    128x96 24576 bytes 6.25 Raw

The real advantage is obvious when you compare the simplicity of communication and image results against the price of the camera.

Don't get me wrong, I adore the setup and definetly want to get a DK some time next year, I was just wondering where the bottleneck in this special case was, because I am focusing on projects around the OLED screen :)

  • There were two possibilities, either get a jpg image from the uCAM or the RAW image. Conversion to the jpg image takes time within the uCAM and you end up getting lesser frame rates. Although Raw images are very large there is no conversion time required. However provided the size of image, even 1228800 is not enough to provide near 23-25 fps.
