¨El Desfile de Silleteros de la Feria de las Flores de Medellín¨:
You will see processions of campesinos (men & women) moving slowly through town with large wooden constructions on their backs, each decorated elaborately with flowers of every color and fragrance. The crowds get large so be prepared for serious crowding and get there early to get a good area to watch.

A lot of Flower Bearers passed, along big avenues of Medellín city in a splendid sunny day. Medellin known as "City of the Eternal Spring" because of its pleasant spring-like climate year round.

Annual flower festival, part of the festivities along with flower parade, classic cars and Vespa Scooters and Lambreta motorcycles parade, lots of music, dances, bands, orchestras, people from all over come to enjoy also good food and a nice hospitable people, the weather is perfect year round.

Medellin is Colombia's second largest city and said to be one of the most beautiful cities in all of South America. There is plenty to do and see in this wonderful and vibrant city in Colombia.

Medellín is the capital city of Antioquia, a province in Colombia (South America). Geographical location 6° 15' North, 75° 36' West. The metropolitan area of Medellín lies within the Aburrá valley at an altitude of 1,538 meters and is bisected by the Medellín river which flows northward.

History:
The first time the Spanish conquistadors saw the Aburrá Valley was in 1541, when Spanish officer Jerónimo Luis Tejelo arrived in the area on orders from Marshal Jorge Robledo, who himself would sometime later found the city of Santa Fe de Antioquia. However, after realizing there was neither gold nor silver, the Spanish lost interest in the valley and left amid the general rejection of the Yamesíes, Niquías, Nutabes, and Aburraes who, according to chronicles, inhabited the valley of what today is Medellín.

In 1616, Oidor (Spanish judge) and Visitador (Inspector) Francisco Herrera Campuzano subjugated Indians from various areas of the Province of Antioquia, brought some to the Aburrá Valley and founded a settlement called San Lorenzo de Aburrá in modern day El Poblado neighborhood. This fact, however, is not to be taken as the origins of Medellín.
