Newegg TV: Seagate GoFlex Family

Today we're doing an in-home demonstration of the GoFlex family of products from Seagate.

The GoFlex family of products features 2.5" and 3.5" external hard drives that have an upgradeable custom SATA adapter. Each adapter can be swapped out for a different interface, so you can move from USB 2.0 to USB 3.0, eSATAp, or Firewire 800.

For Network Attached Storage, the GoFlex Home features the same drive-swapping interface in a NAS cradle, which allows multiple computers to access the drive via your home network. Seagate's included backup software has licenses for 3 PCs and is Time Machine compatible.

The GoFlex Net is a dock for two 2.5" FreeAgent GoFlex drives, and works with the PogoPlug cloud storage service. This allows you to access your home storage from any location with internet access, and also features the PogoPlug iPad/iPhone app which helps add extended storage through the internet for these devices.

Finally, the GoFlex TV is a capable and easy-to-use media streaming device for your home theater. You can plug in USB storage devices or connect it to your router to access movies, music and photos directly on your TV.

@any5dollarfootlong what's wrong w/ Seagate? I've had a 320gb 7,200 RPM SATAII HDD for a helluva long time, not a single issue. keeps up with my new Western Digital Caviar Black SATAIII 500GB 7,200 HDD, STILL. Not that you should expect dramatic results from 2 different 7,200 RPM drives :P

Also, I've seen a Seagate HDD that had laster over 15 years. Granted it was while I was at work and it had been brought in to get a new HDD.
