Stan Getz quartet plays the traditional swedish song Ack Värmland du sköna .
Recorded in Stockholm on march the 23rd 1951.
Played on a Phillips AG1003 attached to the norwegian clasic radio "Radio nette Kurer"

Bengt Hallberg - Piano
Gunnar Johnson - Bass
Jack Norèn - Drums

  • I agree with ETBRAIN, a real revelation to a Getz fan who never knew this lovely Swedish folk song had ever been recorded in jazz format...and by the best! My own version on YT is the straight-out foursquare folk song and, frankly, I like this one better. And, yes, I think of Getz as the master interpreter of Jobim, so what a delightful surprise to find this clip! Tack så mycket, jendor09.
