Stan Getz quartet plays the traditional swedish song Ack Värmland du sköna .
Recorded in Stockholm on march the 23rd 1951.
Played on a Phillips AG1003 attached to the norwegian clasic radio "Radio nette Kurer"
the band:
Stan Getz - Tenor sax
Bengt Hallberg - Piano
Gunnar Johnson - Bass
Jack Norèn - Drums
ironically I bought this from a record dealer in..... Värmland
I agree with ETBRAIN, a real revelation to a Getz fan who never knew this lovely Swedish folk song had ever been recorded in jazz format...and by the best! My own version on YT is the straight-out foursquare folk song and, frankly, I like this one better. And, yes, I think of Getz as the master interpreter of Jobim, so what a delightful surprise to find this clip! Tack så mycket, jendor09.

Nice vid. Great music by Stan Getz wich happens to be the best Jazz interpreter of the brazilian composer Tom Jobim! What a small world this is it! Love this vid, the spinning plate, the arm goin' up and down, colours... 5 Stars!
Congrats. ETBRAIN
