@michetox I believe there are a few, but only in south deep south America. But it's been a long time since I've done much study on reptiles so my memory is a bit hazy.

Could you take the annotation off of where he is taking the food so we can see that part? Maybe put it in the lower right corner instead, where there's no action taking place ;)
These guys are ridiculously endangered, sadly. So getting another won't be very easy. I hope it was part of a breeding program and not just captivity for looking.

@tarantulady sure :) and ya they are very endangered so they know it'll be a long time b4 they are able to get another one. im pretty sure theres some sort of breeding program in india that sends gharials to zoos internationally :)
