@ozjaybabe That documentary is called Piano Players Rarely Ever Play Together. It features Tuts Washington , Professor Longhair , and Allen Toussaint .I gave it to my sister as a birthday gift a few years back. I got it at a local N.O. record shop , but you can probably get it on amazon. Fess died in the middle of filming(not onscreen) and it shows his jazz funeral. I see AT at N.O. Jazzfest every year just hanging out. He's very cool and will discuss his music and stuff with anybody. Even me.
@LJH70122 My older sister had the Southern nights album and I was only 14 when I first heard it. I never realised how many songs he actually wrote until I started searching. So thankful for Youtube to actually see the man in action. There was a super black and white vid on here of AT and two other piano players diring a practice session. All 3 on piano so fantastic and then it was removed :-(
@ozjaybabe John Lennon (Working in a Coal Mine) and Ringo Starr (Sneakin Sally Through the Alley). That's 3/4 of the friggin' Beatles ! But then , if we looked hard enough , there's probably an obscure George Harrison cover somewhere.
