It is one of our important identity markers....

I am a hongkonger, I totally Disagree a view that speaking Putonghua means better written or spoken Chinese. So many HK people and Govt officials in HK start to supress Cantonese to be used as medium of instruction in HK schools.

So Let HK people be aware of this fact and cherish our Cantonese..

@Cantocourse Some facts for you. Cantonese is spoken by millions of Chinese in China, Hong Kong, North American and other parts of the world. It is not dying. There is no such policy that CCP is getting rid of Cantonese. Most Chinese don't speak Putonghua as their first lanauge. Almost everyone of them speaks their own regional dialect. Promoting Putonghua is not equal to killing dialects. Even Tianjin dialect, which is 100 km away from Beijing, is not disappearing. Stop politicize this
