Both cities has their pro and cons...myself personally when i went reckon both cities are awesome. Sydney is a business hub of Australia but Brisbane/Gold Coast is a tourist area and since u said ur studying, try melbourne b/c it has a good education system and the lifestyle there is someway cheaper
