And don't forget about Metroid Prime. The game that brought the series into 3D. One of the greatest games I HAVE EVER PLAYED!

It's because it's made by one person. Programming games is extremely hard and tedious. Even the simplest character interactions and movements have very complicated coding and math behind them.

What if Nintendo could get their act together and create a remake for Metroid 2 for the DS. That would be nice.

I got the first metrod when I was like 3 years old, I got sort of frustrated with that game, but now I'm begging to play it again and is really unique.

I was about to say that Ridley was too easy, and then he went totally crazy with all those fireballs, lol.

simply awesome. I always wanted a 16 bit Metroid 2. I think if any classic game deserves a remake it is this game.

this is more than GREAT.
I'm a metroid fan.
i've played the original 1 back in the 90's but this is different.

It is a fan game, but it is real, and there are a couple demos available. There is no release date. Check the right side of DoctorM64's blog page to find a download link for the demo.
