One thing to pick up on from what Chomsky says - The Daily Herald was relaunched as The Sun in 1964 but after talking about the Herald, Chomsky mentions the "tabloids of that time - the Mirror and the Sun". Apologies if this has already been pointed out and it doesn't detract at all from Chomsky's vast knowledge of seemingly any topic he speaks on. I could watch these videos all day

This is intellectual blitzkreig! Marr was simply overwhelmed - Chomsky has at his disposal an incredible mind.

Noam Chomsky is supremely informed and incinerates Andrew Marr with his usual quiet nonchalant manner. What a gifted inspiring man he is. You have to pause a while and remind yourself that this the political editor of the BBC ( at the time of interview ) and he is completely dominated by Chomsky's ability to drown you in facts and refrences. Pure brilliance.

@phooey108 So... ummm... OK! An admission that they did in fact monitor these groups, but one that simultaneously maintains a righteous tone as if you are still correct. Refer to my comment above. Step back and look at the context. All the pieces fit in my world view, what about you? Account for the presence of dark hatred in evil in the United States government while simultaneously accounting for its fundamentally progressive nature. Its world changing liberation efforts. I can. Can you?

As is to be expected, Chomsky sure knows how to express himself. This is dangerously brilliant.
