@Babywinona Everybody has their favourite singers, but to say that DH is bad because he doesn't sound EXACTLY like Bastianini? Come on, I'll take DH's Il Balen over Bastianini's any time. Beautiful voice + modern approach to the role. "Pseudo-singers"? Are you kidding? I LOVE this "old singers were gods, nowadays they're lousy" approach. Go and listen to the old recordings, but first, please, TURN OFF YOUR DAMN CAPS LOCK!

@frufruJ The difference between DH and Bastianini is that Bastianini didn't need a microphone. Kaufmann can really sing and doesn't need the microphone. DH's voice is artificial, squeezed and he's pretentious. It is an absolute joke to compare him to Bastianini. There are some (very few) very good baritones out there, who I've heard at the Met, who have reminded me of Bastinianini, e. g. Adrzei Dobber but not this guy...not even close...it's simple acoustics, but I'm guessing you were joking...

@mahsef DH's voics is his voice .Just like EB's voice was his. Im sure EB would respect DH and his ability as a singer and artist. And not condem him as you have. Time passes, EB has been dead for many years.
