Flesch / Rostal edition is good. For me, one of the best cadenzas is Kreisler's one.

I agree with you. I think my technique would be nothing without Sevcik, I think so even after completing rode caprices, kreutzer, dont, and lots and lots of carl flesch. I like to think that most studies make the hands work a lot, and thats good, but sevcik makes each individual finger work with every other finger on the hand. so flexible. i'm preparing for my first concerto performance with an orchestra playing beethoven. what do you think about carl flesch edition and cadenzas?

These cadenzas are from the piano transcription of the Violin Concerto written by Beethoven sort of by popular demand. Since Beethoven was a pianist, primarily, he wrote the cadenzas heard here, though they are seldom played by violinists.

Yes. We are really proud of Sevcik in the Czech republic. Sevcik was extremely hardworking (I read his letter he wrote when he was a child, he wrote to his father "Yesterday I practiced trill with my fourth finger 500 times"), very strict on his pupils. No one of them practiced less than six hours each day. Don't forget Jan Kubelik, he was his pupil too. Do you know his "School of intonation"?

Have you listened to Schneiderhan playing Mozart A major concerto? There is a cool cadenza in the third movement. I don´t know who composed it, but it is possible that it was Schneiderhan. It really worth listening.
