Short video from the range showing the new SIG 556 Classic SWAT sporting a Trijicon ACOG TAO1NSN along with an Advanced Armament M41000 suppressor. Sorry folks, our urban shooting range only allows 1 round at a time.

  • @HellaFlushEvo Carbon fouling has to go somewhere. On the SIGs, it gets vented out of the handguard, but a lot of it fouls the piston as well. Compared to an HK, the AR15 runs clean as a whistle! SIG's warranty fixes have been shoddy at best: shimming the uneven optics rail, shaving the bolt carriers and trunions instead of re-engineering them, the list goes on. They need the help of the Swiss badly!

  • @boricuaDV from looking at the stock, it seems it wasn't the 09+ version. a di gun runs more dirty with a suppressor, thats why im getting a 556. but if what you say is true about the bad cq, wouldn't sig fix it under warranty?

  • @HellaFlushEvo I've never seen a properly built AR with a properly spec'd gas port have any problems running suppressed, and that includes carbine length gas systems. SIG's QC sucks big time on these rifles. It is their own design, yet they have had problems with canted rails, bolt carriers that peen the trunion, incorrectly drilled gas valves with identical sized holes, cheap knock-off sights that fall apart and buttstocks that break. That's the TRUE history of the American 556.

  • @boricuaDV a good ar will not run reliably with a suppressor like a piston 556. idk why you said that sig has cq problems, as far as i know, they are not of lesser quality than any other company. if anything, i sig is better.

  • @Deltaspeed93 Just as the US Military did, I too wasted a lot of time and money trying to find a "better" rifle than the AR15. None of the alternatives offer enough measurable gains to justify the trade-off in parts commonality/logistics for a true SHTF application. With SIG, the quality control is a big problem and parts are ONLY available from SIG. The 556 is not at the same level as a Swiss rifle. A good AR with lube will run and run and run. Google "Pat Rogers Filthy 14" for a good read.

  • @boricuaDV "You could spend your money better" or "you could get an AR for WAY cheaper" But hobbyist rifle? C'mon man.....Most here would probably rather take a Sig 556 when SHTF. HA! most would take a 581 series Mini 14 over an AR.

  • @boricuaDV Ahh ok that is cool =) I was just curious on if i decided to get a rifle what would be good choices. I don't know very much of anything about guns so i figured i'd ask someone who does. What pistol would you recommend? Berretta? Glock? Smith&Wesson? Tarus?

  • @Onfire4Christ777 I can't recommend either weapon for self defense, but if I had to choose one, I would choose the Bushmaster. There are way too many problems with these SIG rifles and they are little more than a hobbyist rifle. That said, you can get a MUCH better AR15 than Bushmaster for around $1k nowadays; Colt, Daniel Defense, Bravo Company, Spikes Tactical...that is what I would recommend.

  • @boricuaDV Question for ya; Would you recommend this for a 1st time rifler shooter/user ? Also would you recommend SIG or Bushmaster for a home defense rifle as far as Flat top rifles / carbine flat tops?

  • Thats wus up..

    I got my sig556 for a G in NJ..
