that 60 driver must have gone a long way before knowing he was on the wrong route :P surprised they didn't just get another 66 that's what they would normally do must have been fantastic to see a class 40 on a heavy load again, btw was the 60 supplying any power to get up the hill?

Thats right 40025, its the Ammeter you have to watch ! just needs nursing .

Thanks for the Comments chaps, I was the Driver now retired Bescot driver, we was told by Network Rail to Drag it back from Nuneaton Station to Abbey St jct after being wrong routed. it probley was over the load but had no option, with a bit of nursing a couple of overloads we managed it . not bad for an old codger, thats me not the loco !

might be a touch over loaded for a 40, but it is good locomanship from the driver, not thrashing the nuts off it, and doing is best to let the weight of the train do the work where he could.

Can't think why there has been rows about 145 and it's had to have very expensive repairs ....not ...also revving it up on Preserved Lines didn't help either ...I'll put my tin hat on !

My Lords
The Old Girl was driven superbly and doing what it was built for.
As for revving it up on Preserved Lines :<O It's not a motorbike, it's all to do with the ammeter not the engine revs Doh!
