Ophelia is moving westward and is weakening. Atmospheric conditions are unfavourable, and it is distinctly possible for the storm to degenerate into a remnant area of low pressure at any time. However, if Ophelia survives that long, strengthening is possible towards the end of the forecast period.

Hilary has intensified further and is now a category IV hurricane. The storm will basically maintain this strength through today, before commencing a weakening trend on Saturday as it moves away west. It could later veer to the north.

20W has formed and is moving steadily northwest, whilst intensifying. The system will continue on present course, and is expected to make landfall on northern Luzon, Philippines, after the weekend, as a 90 knot typhoon.
