St. Augustine's father, Patricius, was a Roman while St. Monica, his mom, was probably a Berber, based on her name alone. Therefore, it is likely that he was of mixed heritage.

i'm algerin and i'm from tagast (now souk ahras ) and yes we are a Muslim but we like st Augustine and we respect him he's a great personality even though we don't flow his religion cause he appeared before Islam beside we believe in Jesus too cause he's one of Allah prophets and there are a lot of places in algeria called st Augustine
