A fine dance in 7/8 from the Macedonian-Albanian border area. I play a Macedonian tanbura.
Une belle danse en 7/8, de la frontière albano-macédonienne. Je joue sur un tamboura macédonien.

  • @ArnaudLachambre viens te voir dans Kay Harpa :-)

  • Well done. Not Greek if from Debar, far north R.Macedonia on the Albanian border. Perhaps the reason Greeks recognise it - reminds them of a well loved song, "Paploma" by Mitsakis, itself taken from the melody sung in Turkish urban centres as "Ben giderim batuma", based on the Laz/Pontian dance Lazikon/Tonyalidhikon. It's just coincidence an authentic melody from Macedonian or Albanian folklore sounds similar, 7/8 rhythm played this way is very common there.

  • this is not greek, it is macedonian 7/8 ritym, greek are gypsies.

  • Beautiful tune!

No matter, if it´s Greek, or Macedonian or anything else - it´s Balkan Folk :-)

I have got the book from Linsey Pollak at last time, very nice.

But do you have the notes for the "Debarsko Oro" available?

  • THIS IS GREEK DANCE!!!

  • Very good.
