There is a long way to go, but don't worry guys it may be getting better. My husbands ex pulled this kind of crap all the time. When she did it to her last husband she kicked him or something and tried to say it was because he was abusing her. The police arrested her and she went to jail. Now they are divorced and he has custody of the child they adopted and I believe she pays him child support. IMO it should be that way if it went down like that. Equal rights means equal accountability IMHO.

@spoogeling I never said you did, I just said it's common that that's the case. I read a short story called "The Brute" by Anton Chekhov about two lovers who despise the opposite sex because their ex's were unfaithful and gave them a hatred towards that gender. This is a good example of what I mean.
It's unfair to say that anyone who disagrees with a group or idea is just 'pissing and moaning', so I agree that that is not the case. I hope you don't think that's how I see antifeminists.

@TheFreshTrumpet I didn't suffer any personal trauma, neither did MWM, He just found something distinctly wrong with what he saw, and decided to investigate, that's how I found out about it, that's probably how the majority of MRA's find out about it, and they aren't just saying this because they want to piss and moan and think it isn't their fault, it's because they're right.

@spoogeling A person isn't born with a dislike of feminism, someone causes a form of pain in their life (more often). I'm glad you brought that up so I can defend my statement. Sometimes a person grows a hatred against women (and take their anger out on feminism) when their mother upsets or neglects them, sometimes it's when a person is mad at women when they can't, for lack of a better term, 'get one'.
Just to set the record straight, idk where you got "must be gay" from what I said.
-
@TheFreshTrumpet " Was it a careless mother, heartless ex, or just a general lack of know-how with the "ladies" "
-
@spoogeling When did I say that?
-
@TheFreshTrumpet Ah, where have I seen that before? "You dislike feminism? You must be gay/hate women/are a virgin" How typical.
-
@blacktigerpaw1 Hey, you're the one who messaged me.
When someone finds a hatred towards a group of people, it usually starts with one of them being emotionally scarred by one of the group. I'm curious to know how a woman has negatively affected your life. Was it a careless mother, heartless ex, or just a general lack of know-how with the "ladies", if you will? I hope you find happiness somewhere; you seem hoplessly hateful.

@TheFreshTrumpet I am afraid that any type of discussion that we may have will result in feminist-type rhetoric. So far you still parrot the idea that feminism is good. It is up to you to find out the reality for yourself, and until then, refrain from attaching yourself to a hateful ideology. If you know better, good, but if you don't, I have no choice but to pity you for being so gullible. As I said, it is like talking to a wall. And I am bored and tired of you, so save it.
-
@TheFreshTrumpet It is a sign of ignorance to view equality between everything and anything is possible. Equality between the genders is impossible due to different wants and needs; to even think it is possible creates more problems than solutions. You are trying to avoid my points and have not addressed them. Switching the subject, are we? It's like talking to a wall. Oddly enough you say that is it inhumane to consider one gender better than the other...which is feminism.
-
@blacktigerpaw1 It is a sign of inferiority to view equality as a threat. The list of human beings, both male and female, who have risked everything they cherrish in order to ensure that equality prevails for every living being is a list too long to write down at this time. Human beings lay down their lives for other human beings. It is inhumane to claim that one gender is inferior to another. Therefore, we could have a humane discussion, or the one that you want to have.
did one of those say '11 out of 10 at risk'?
thats impossible, cause then it goes beyond the number stated.

Maybe epedemic isn't the correct word, but it's gaining popularity. Abuse is happening all over the world. sharia law permits this to happen overseas. the violent riots are happening now. Abuse shows no gender preference.it's action.to suck away the inner self of a victim, man, woman or child.. and this is due to the abusers inability to take responsibility for their own actions,to gain their own power and control in their own self from others. bullies included. Stop the blame game people! fix it!

@VICTIMSAGAISTABUSE No, abuse is not "gaining popularity". That is a myth propagated by those people and agencies that make money by fear-mongering.
Further (and this may not apply to you), it baffles me why people who have generally never stepped foot in the middle-east and who could likely not distinguish Saudi Arabia from Yemen on a map, want to continually cite Islam and Sharia law as the epitome of evil and oppression of women. It's unsupportable and anyway, these films are UK-USA focused.

Hold the phone... 31 Million? That's just Britain right? There are only 51 Million PEOPLE living in Britain now anyway. If we assume half are male, how is that even possible? Wouldn't every single male be arrested every year with those kinds of statistics? Heck, if the claim that plenty of DV goes unreported, that claim can't even stand cursory analysis.

Indeed. Yet these sorts of figures get regular national air play and they go unquestioned.
