Jimmy V. Johnston: Child Soldier of the Civil War told by Annette Harrison
The inspiration for this story came from the photo of Jimmie V. Johnston at the Missouri and the Civil War exhibit at the History Museum in St Louis. Annette researched James (Jimmie) V. Johnston and powder boys in general which led to information on boy soldiers in the Civil War. Based on the facts and using her imagination, Annette created this story about this amazing 6 and a half year old soldier.
