Obama and Bush have expressed similar viewpoints on off-shore drilling, gay marriage, education, minority home ownership, and abstinence education, affirmative action, federal funding of faith-based initiatives, and capital punishment. Bush and Obama both supported the bailouts of the banking industry and the auto industry. Obama voted for Bush's Patriot Act, the largest Constitutional violation in years. Obama has continued Bush's war in Iraq and escalated Bush's war in Afghanistan. CHANGE?!

A year later, where is the change? Mr. Obama practices the same Keynesian economic policies as Bush did. Obama's 2009 stimulus was similar to the stimulus packages Bush passed in 2001 and 2008. Bush left us with record debt and deficits; Obama has increased spending 22% over Bush and quadrupled federal spending. Obama voted for Bush's budgets, including 19 of Bush's spending bills. Obama and Bush practiced the same monetary policy and appointed the same man, Ben Bernanke, as chair of the Fed.

Mr McCain's handling of his own supporters in Pennsylvania also highlighted a stark contrast between his campaign and that of Mr Obama. While Mr McCain smiled and went on with his speech as his supporters booed Mr Obama, the Democrat immediately rebuked his own supporters in Florida when they booed Mr McCain.
