In our laboratory, rats are trained using operant conditioning to associate two odors ('A' and 'B') delivered from a central port with reward at two ports (left and right). The performance level seen here is achieved after about 2-3 weeks of training. Credit: Zach Mainen and Naoshige Uchida.
