The instrumental tone is very supportive to the music - as is the performance. Both possess a quick and varied attack. What is particularly charming about this instrument is it's draconian powerful dry bass but fluted singing birdlike treble, and an overall texture that is like fine smooth felt - allowing for a great space to exist between the individual notes which creates a cavern for the listener's imagination.
