Champions4Champions Peer Leadership & Career Awareness Training at Camelback High School, Phoenix, AZ, February 12, 2009, in conjunction with NBA All Star Weekend and the U.S. Army. Champions4Champions is a cadre of retired legends of sports and celebrity athletes dedicated to positively impacting the lives of youth throughout the world.
The training is designed for high school youth (ages 16-18) that focuses on problem solving, refusal skills, mentoring, community service, teacher appreciation, family involvement and career awareness.
The Armed Forces, selected colleges and universities are each given a segment of time to address the youth about career awareness and positive alternatives.
I think the collaboration of our armed forces and our sports legends is an excellent tool to reach our youth all over America. We need more positive speakers letting our kids know there are things we can do to better ourselves and our nation. Mr. Jones delivers a powerful message and it should be shared all over the country. Thanks for all you do!
