Thanks. Reminds me of the day I spent hours in the station waiting for the west bound to appear our of the snow. A train had crashed on the other line and all trains were routed through here. February 1986.

oh okay so those grain trains are loaded from grain elevators on the praies and then moved to vancouver to be shiped across seas?

Those trains are heading west through Roger's Pass, which is probably the steepest inclines through the rockies for CP Rail.
Those DPU helpers are there to reduce the stress on the couplers, as well as to help push the trains up the grades.
