Blue in Green

I've always liked this little tone poem by Bill Evans. I have had several arrangements of this one over the years. Each arrangement uses different harmonic substitutions. This version is in the key of A Major. I like the sound of this tune is A. Of course I like my open string opening chord. There is a special whole tone chord in the middle that suspends time in a peculiar way. It reminds me of Debussy. I love his music also. I hope you enjoy this arrangement.

Steve..........very sensitive reading.....as Bill himself would have felt it. I remember from the first time I shared a bandstand with you....in Atlantic City in about 1968.....I said that you would be a cat in this buisiness for the long haul. ...truly a creative, expressionistic artist with an amazing love of his craft. What a treat to find these videos. I took a summer's worth of lessons with Steve ten years ago before I went off to college. I learned more in those three months than in all the other years of instruction. More than any other jazz guitarist I know, Steve's music always serves beauty and experimentation, rather than mindless technique.
